Small Business Matters Monday edition, meets on the 2nd and 4th Monday at 9:30am at Rocky Top HVAC, 7327 Oak Ridge Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37931.
Business Owners roundtable. We discuss open issues affecting other business owners.
Business and the Word is our newest group, that is scheduled to start meeting on the 1st Monday 9:30am at Rocky Top HVAC, 7327 Oak Ridge Hwy, Knoxville, TN and 3rd Monday, 9:30am at The Casual Pint Northshore, 2045 Thunderhead Rd, Knoxville, TN
This group will be able to openly discuss our faith and how we apply it to our businesses. Open to everyone.
Small Business Matters isn’t just about handing out business cards — it’s about building real relationships.
Each meeting is designed to go deeper, with guided questions that help members connect on both a business and personal level. This creates stronger referrals, better partnerships, and a more supportive community.
Yes — our weekly Wednesday meetings are completely free to attend.
We believe every small business owner should have access to networking and growth opportunities without barriers.
No membership is required to visit. We are a no dues, no attendance, no restrictions group.
We welcome a wide range of local businesses — from solo entrepreneurs and startups to established companies.
Common attendees include:
- Service providers (contractors, cleaners, IT, etc.)
- Health & wellness professionals
- Coaches and consultants
- Retail and e-commerce businesses
- Marketing and creative professionals
We meet every Wednesday from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Karns Youth Center.
We also host additional events like roundtables, social meetups, and special networking events throughout the month.
Each meeting includes:
Open networking
Introductions from attendees
Two guided questions (one business-focused, one personal)
Opportunities to share your business and build connections
It’s structured enough to be productive, but relaxed enough to feel natural.
Absolutely — that’s part of the experience.
You’ll have opportunities to introduce your business, share what you do, and connect with people who may need your services.
Not exactly.
While referrals absolutely happen, Small Business Matters focuses first on relationships.
The belief is simple: strong relationships lead to better, more natural referrals.
Small Business Matters is organized by local business leaders who are passionate about helping other businesses grow, connect, and succeed in the community. The current leadership includes John Geer and Jacob Miller.
We meet in person at the Karns Youth Center in Knoxville, Tennessee, and host additional events at various locations around the area.
Bring:
- Business cards (if you have them)
- A short introduction of your business
- An open mindset to connect and engage
That’s it — no pressure, no pitch-perfect speech required.
Show up consistently and focus on building relationships, not just selling.
The more people get to know and trust you, the more opportunities will naturally come your way.
